The Tool Barn

Name:  Backsaw

Use:  The Back Saw is good at making precise cuts, normally  in conjunction with a miter box.  This teeth of this very stiff-bodied saw do not have the "set" (deflection) that regular hand saws have.  The result is a saw that gives very clean cuts but it does cut somewhat slower than other hand saws.  This is important for molding and trim applications.  Not a good all-around saw.
