Step 5:

Finish up the connections and completely dry the floor of the cabinet.  Turn on the valves to the feeder lines and the faucet itself and check for leaks. If you get leaks, attempt to tighten the suspect joint a bit more. If the joint still leaks, take it apart and make sure that everything is assembled correctly. Compression fittings are the most prone to leakage but once established, last for years.
