Because of ice build-up on the eavestroughs, thawing caused the
water to back up and leak through the Dining Room ceiling.
a) How can this be prevented in the future? I have seen the
heating coils installed on some eaves and have heard of a
waterproof membrane to install under the shingles. (We have
just re-shingled!)
b) The insulation in the attic is wet. Should this be
replaced?
