My question is this...I am preparing to skim coat the walls in my kitchen with joint compound (I've done this successfully before) BUT, I am removing wallpaper and want to know what kind of wall prep I should do before skim coating. There is blue glue? on the plaster beneath, should I scrub this off with Diff (wallpaper adhesive remover) and hot water OR can I coat over this? It would be a great time saver if I could coat over this but I don't want to have to revisit this project again in the future if the plastering fails because I didn't scrub the walls!! HELP!!
