Our house is only 1 1/2 yrs old. The faucet is a single push/pull knob mixer style, and there appears to be no clear physical problems with the faucet itself.
Symtoms: It's a pretty steady drip. When you turn on the faucet all the way, and turn the knob left/right from hot to cold, it actually affects the toilet tank on the toilet which is right next to the tub. It appears the water pressure in the line makes the water push in/out of the taoilet tank, actually making the float ball bounce and the water to run. On this same line, I get a water hammer effect/sound from under the tub when the bathtub faucet is quickly shut off.
