We recently purchased an older home in which a drain tile / sump pump system has been installed after the house was built. I'm not sure how long ago the system was installed but am sure it was more than 7 years ago. Along some of the walls there is about a one inch gap between the slab floor and the cinder block wall. You can look down into this gap and see rock. Can this gap be covered up and if so, how should it be covered. We have a real problem with crickets coming in through the holes in the foundation drilled for the drain tile system and crawling through this gap into the rooms.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
