I have wiring question. I am remodeling a room in my home. It has some screwy wiring! Originally it had three wires going into an outlet. One came from a light switch, one went out of the outlet to the light and the other? I am assuming that it fed power to the outlet because the switch did not have to be one for it to work. Because these three wires came down from the ceiling it would have been very difficult to move them to a near by wall. here is what I did. I wired the switch and light direct. Cut the third wire, capped it, put it in a juntion box and put it in the ceiling. I lost an outlet but okay. But today I noticed that two outlets in my living room are not working. I can't see how that would have a bearing on what I did with the no more to be outlet but tell me could it? Can I wire all three together in the ceiling. They were all wired together before but through an outlet. Now what?
