The Tool Barn

Working around doors

The extra thickness of the paneling may be a problem for the door jams.  This extra thickness may not have been planned for and a filler strip will be required.

Measure the thickness of the filler strip required.  Use a table saw to rip a section of paneling and cut to length.

Use wood glue to secure the filler.  Be careful to wipe with a damp sponge any excess glue, otherwise the stain will not penetrate.

You may also need to notch the filler strip and fit around the hinges.
