I am in the process of remodeling my basement and had initailly decided to carpet, but I would also like to know if there is anyone who can give any ideas on how I might go about tiling the hall and closets. My biggest problem is clearance and the non-level floor that includes some raised patch areas. The house is a ranch style, built in the 50's, and for whatever reason has a very low ceiling (under 7'). I have looked into the self-leveling option and am a little apprehensive about going that route. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
