The Tool Barn

Make your own molding

Wood moldings are expensive and are rarely the same wood as the tongue and groove paneling.  For the exterior trim corner, you can make your own molding.

This can be made of two pieces of paneling, ripped to 5/16" thickness.  One is 1" wide and the other 1-5/16".  Glue and clamp or nail the two pieces together.

Use a palm or hand sand the three outer corners.

Install the molding with 4d nails and paneling adhesive.  Avoid using excess glue and keep the number of nails to a minimum.
