Isn't it amazing what some people will do? Keep in mind that it might actually look worse under the paint (no, I can't image anything worse than painted stone, either.) Caustic paint removers such as Peel-Away are supposed to work on stone, but I've never tried it, and don't know what it might do to the pointing. Will you post on how it works out?
