Due to attic joist movement as weather changes, we get gaps between the top of the wall and the ceiling, that cause the joint tape to pull loose. If I just put compound over the tape, it will pull loose again. The gap could be hidden with crown molding fastened to the ceiling only, so the molding would slide up and down the wall as the joists move.

Does anyone know of any easier way to solve this problem?
